Jo, John, Andy and Keith’s private skills session

Jo, John, Andy and Keith arrived as arranged and after checking their bikes over, ran them through my skills check.

Body positioning and looking were glaring errors and then foot placement. I worked on replacing the physical errors and then I worked on the head game.

I think the pictures tell the tale of how the session unfolded. Brilliant session with a great bunch. Awesome flapjacks too.

High5!

Xc singletrack skills with Jonathan

Jonathan races xc and always lost time in corners and when riding down singletrack and over obstacles. I based the session upon correcting his physical skills, especially body positioning before working on “stuff”

The session gradually gained pace as Jonathan grew more aware of anything he was doing physically on the bike right or wrong.

What a session it was.

High5!

Changing Mike’s position

Mike came to me via recommendation from sick vic, whom I coach also. Mike wanted to overcome the residual fear left from a crash many years ago and maybe get over his fear of gap jumps. First I corrected the physical skills and then worked on the mental skills.

Woop woop! What a change in his riding. Jumps to almost 14ft, drops and gaps jumps to 9ft as well as railing berms faster than he’d ever done.

Brill day, high5!

Doug and Steve learn to fly

Doug and Steve came to us via recommendation . They wanted to gain control of mtbing and maybe even leave the planet and get some air. Well, once I had worked on their missing skills of looking and body positioning it all began to click together nicely.

Bunnyhops, jumps, drops, berms, gaps and steep drop offs were all ridden with control and the emntal skills were used to decide what to ride or not. A brilliant session unfolded.

High5 guys !

Katy and Joel’s skills session

Katy was coached by myself in December last year and wanted to return with her friend Joel to push her riding further and to do the same with Joel.

We focused on jumping and linking jumps and flying greater distance. As well as riding steeper drop offs and style in the air too.

Brilliant riding guys. High5!

Stefan discovers the rider inside

Stefan rang me a couple of weeks ago to book a session focusing on jumping as everything else he’d tried hadn’t worked. I had to first correct his physical skills beofre working on the mental skills as we worked through the session. He was blown away by the sections he was able to ride. Gap jumps, tabletops to 14ft and his cornering he said felt amazing.

Rad session, high5!

Alastair’s one to one

Alastair wanted to develop his skills set and said that he’d like to work on drops and everything else  🙂 I had to correct his body positioning and looking before applying these to the techniques we teach. A great first session for 2017.
