We met as arranged and after giving my commitment for the day, we began as usual with the skills check. After identifying the missing skills I moved them onto pumping the trail and the disconnected bunny hop , which they got to grips with easily.
We then moved onto the drop and jump techniques and it was obvious to begin with that their mental skills were lacking but slowly I built up their mental skills and soon confidence and commitment showed.
i then moved them onto a trail where we had to work on linking sections together. We unidentified braking zones and sections and very quickly linked them together as the group built their trail energy management.
We played with body positioning and found the need to be right behind the bike disappeared as we worked through sections.
